Wayne Dyer’s new program: Excuses Begone! – been enjoying listening to that – he is always so motivational and uplifting.
The Bristol Dyslexia Centre has some interesting stuff on it’s site including some free educational games taken from the [...]

Have finally got the blog how I want it – a terrible tale of databases, installations of wordpress and corrupted (by me) css files ensued but I’ve now uploaded the archives (see drop down on sidebar) and cleaned up dead links too

Thoroughly enjoyed a readathon of The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (Davie aquired one of only 2 copies left in Asda, £5) – very exciting, lots of thought provoking factoids
Went rather well, surprisingly so really, with Doreen Virtue’s Goddesses and Angels, which I’ve just finished.
Always loved the Horrible Histories books, read a rather good interview with [...]

steps
not feeling terribly inspired to blog, been up to eyes in the air purifying paint – nice stuff, but many walls to go… so just popping up these Fyvie Castle pics from last week else they’ll get forgotten about:
camera then ran out of battery so no pics of baby ducks, swans and geese but they [...]
Slains Castle and Dracula
What with reading Dracula (almost finished) and it being Halloween week it seemed appropriate to venture to Slains Castle. Not been turned into holiday flats yet, though there is a big fence up – we just walked round the side of it like everyone else (never seen it so busy there… forbid entrance and everyone [...]
butternut soup and vampires
Lovely autumn soup, butternut squash – recipe:
The beautiful old reading room and local history section in Strichen library – like stepping back in time…
Were enjoying a deliciously Gothic pairing of Dracula books in the approach to Halloween. This paperback version has a wonderful collection of extra information about the book, Stoker writings, interviews etc. not to mention a cover [...]
finally getting round to a few things
such as: looking at energy comparisons and have switched using uSwitch’s Energy Price Comparison Calculator, a lot easier than I thought, they do all the switch over stuff - there are still some companies offering fixed tarriffs though some have been pulled today…
preparations for the long planned mural painting have begun, utilising paint left by previous [...]
