polytunnels and taps
Weve had a few spring-like days now, causing me to dig over some ground for the little polytunnel and clean and set up the coldframe to let the ground warm up for salad seeds. Browsing Suttons trying to decide what to plant this year – will have more room with extra raised beds… this really [...]

Wayne Dyer’s new program: Excuses Begone! – been enjoying listening to that – he is always so motivational and uplifting.

flower of Scotland
Beautiful country this in many ways… feel lucky to live here.

taken over last couple of days
summer snowballs
Luscious and ready from Charlotte’s garden, very good in soup

Still enjoying the rowan [...]
garden doings
Browsing Sutton’s seed clearance, some good bargains…(would it be totally daft to attempt goji berries here???) got quite a few of our seeds from there this year and they were very good, no disasters B&Q have got lots of trays of veg plants reduced to 50p just now – nabbed a load of cabbage [...]
blackcurrants and tyres
got totally soaked collecting blackcurrants for the smoothie this morning – was worth it, quite delicious In that jug are borage flowers, blackcurrants, plantain and curly kale plus a fair amount of rain - added to it were bananas, apple, brazil nuts, linseeds and red grape juice.
The tyre garden is growing well [...]
pie and bed
Very simple – spelt pastry with onion, carrots and celery in a white sauce for filling, was very good with new tatties just pulled from garden
In the background is the ongoing construction of the first of the raised beds – were making them out of the old roof tiles and veranda wood. Very [...]
a toolbox of lettuce
Decided I had to put a container of something here in the very hottest spot on the property – sheltered by walls to North and East, it’s a veritable sun trap. So, old toolbox found in shed, a packet of red salad bowl and one hot weeks growth later Looking the other way from [...]
