squash and snuggles
There is a pumpkin soup recipe and a butternut squash recipe on our soup page, though lately weve been enjoying them in a creamy soup thus: peel, deseed and chop squash of choice, cover with water and bring to boil. Add in onion, lots of garlic, a chilli and salt to taste. Blend up with a [...]
October already and thoughts of chocolate
It doesn’t seem long since I was looking forward to the long months of summer yet to come. They whisked by in a flurry of mountains, gardening, a broken arm, sunbathing, swimming, boogie boarding, transformations, eating home produce, preserving, cycling, walking, learning, dancing, writing, reading… well there you are, it’s really Autumn now. Wild winds [...]
Autumn
The equinox occurs at 4.03am tomorrow morning. A time of balance and harvest. Here we have broccoli, kale, leeks, carrots, apples and even finally courgettes in great abundance. The peas and beans are still producing though more slowly and it’s time for brambles in the smoothies. I love how the sunflower heads get bigger and [...]

another soul searching Transformation Game was played… it really does embody that Findhorn-esque quality of sharing and discovering deep things openly with others, love it. Wonderful companion to the morning pages of The Artist’s Way. Related posts:workbooks, tower and JCB songfestive madnessGlazed Parsnips and Carrots with Pistachio
Scottish macaroons
If you’re looking for a Scottish dish to make for Burns night other than haggis*, these are very good – nothing like the English item of the same name and containing the somewhat surprising ingredient of potato (undetectable, is lovely fondant). Basically you boil a small peeled potato, mash it and mix in as much icing sugar as [...]

Summer Solstice
Celebrated by lying in the sun, on the grass all afternoon… very blissful. Chocolate mint nut mylk: Handful cacao nibs, few brazil nuts, a few springs of mint, a little agave, water… very nice, though very rich. Next time will try hemp seeds instead of nuts and vanilla instead of agave Related posts:whaleCat’s cakesbits and [...]
