Just two weeks after Willow, we have now lost Toby too, also aged 13. There he is in the ‘hot place’, so named due to it’s sheltered nature making it a lovely place to sunbathe at all times of year. Happily we’ve all been out there quite  a bit recently enjoying the sun together. I always had the feeling he was ‘standing guard’, though right up into the last week of his life he still  loved a joyous  mad puppy dog roll on the grass as here:

 Too engrossed in the above psychologically superb mystery to make pancakes today (amazon.co.uk or amazon.com) but here’s a couple of our recipes:

savoury basil and poppyseed pancakes

dandelion fritters, there’s no dandelions growing yet but the recipe is just a plain pancake and very adjustable :)
