jolly
Gorgeous hot weather continues… gooseberries and rasps from the garden are making their way into the breakfast smoothies now Talking of smoothies, the green smoothie blog has been added to the sidebar, lots of good ideas there. The clearout has reached the kids wardrobes so many more puzzles and educational games are up here In [...]
Summer Solstice
Celebrated by lying in the sun, on the grass all afternoon… very blissful. Chocolate mint nut mylk: Handful cacao nibs, few brazil nuts, a few springs of mint, a little agave, water… very nice, though very rich. Next time will try hemp seeds instead of nuts and vanilla instead of agave Related posts:pasta, beloved, postcards, [...]

a very green Good Friday
Today’s green smoothie. Greens from garden are bunches of scarlet kale, leaf beet and parsley: add to that 1 avocado, 3 bananas, 1 litre orange juice - that would make a nice smoothie but I added these superfoods today too: handful gojis, tablespoon raw choc nibs, 2 teaspoons spirulina, 1 tablespoon barleygrass powder, 2 tablespoons [...]
purple smoothie and igloo
a smoothie of the moment: lots of brambles (blackberries) about 3rd of the jug, 2 bananas, 1 mango, lots apple juice, 1 tsp spirulina, 1 tsp purple corn extract and a random sprig of parsley left over from day before (you don’t taste it) – for best results Vitamix (or blendtec…)! For our page on [...]
after a little blog break…
It’s been a busy month of visiting friends both here and there iyswim. Had a fab residential home ed group trip where the kids ran amock in the woods and the adults got to chat and drink wine and eat chocolate cake. It was HOT, actually HOT, hoping this bodes well for the rest of [...]
foodie bits
Fab cheap beanburgers recipe submitted by Jane (ages ago – so disorganised!) up on the frugal site here I got all arty with the breakfast smoothie, which was very good by the way. For four people – punnet of rasps, handful of cashews, 2 medjool dates, tablespoon of raw cacao nibs, 1 avocado, red grape [...]
autumnal
Schools here go back today – can feel that atmosphere in the air. At least it’s not glorious and sunny – that always made it so much harder… It’s incredibly autumnal now – been reminding myself that it’s only August and we should get some more sunshine yet. Love autumn though – there’s a kind [...]
happy smoothie
Everyone agrees that this is the best smoothie ever made for breakfast so thought I should record what I chucked in there (For four large smoothies): 1 large punnet of strawberries from the local fruit farm, 1 mango, 1 banana, quite a bit of pineapple juice and spring water – then these next are optional [...]
