Such lovely skies, beautiful colour and perfect clouds. I must get out tomorrow and enjoy the outside again, we have been cooped up with illness and deep cleaning here! The flapjack recipe looks great too. I love the idea of the bananas and as I have a few over ripe, I shall try that tomorrow. I also have a brand new cooker as of today, my first full size electric cooker for 3 years! I shall enjoy baking these in it tomorrow. Can I just ask your advice? My oldest daughter is 11 this year and I have spent the last few nights thinking/worrying about what I should do for secondary level education. What worked for you? Any suggestions?
A very Happy New Year to you all, Liz xx
yes, the flapjacks are very good, even those here with well developed sweet teeth liked them
As to secondary home ed, well there isn’t really one answer. Different things/styles worked at different times. looking back at our own experience I wish we’d been quicker to evolve and not clung to old patterns after they’d outlived their uselfulness. Home educators sometimes exasperated me by saying vague stuff like that, but it’s true. We all find out own way. On the other hand a few people who had never home educated, seemed to think they knew exactly what we should be doing and I wish I’d ignored/not let them upset me!
Books we found useful are unqualified education and the teenage liberation handbook (it’s follow up, real lives is great too). There’s a world of courses out there for more structured learning when/if that seems right.
