The moon was so beautiful and bright last night wasn’t it? I didn’t know it was an eclipse though! Wish I’d have known in advance! How do you find out all the dates of the lunar and solar events? Is there a website you can recommend?

Hi, Lucy! What beautiful photos! I’ve been enjoying (and photographing) this “Oak Moon” too, though the eclipse came too late in the morning for us to be able to see it.

I thought about you this week as I read about that awful storm that blew through Scotland – I hope you were unscathed! All looks peaceful in your photos.

Jade, Lucy may have a different source, but this one is my favorite…
    StarDate

Can’t believe I missed the eclipse!! What time was it (I also live in the UK)? Thanks for the website Laloofah, very interesting.
Lucie – love your blog and pictures. I don’t leave comments often but I read it regularly! Roberta X

I thought we weren’t supposed to be able to see it in the UK but it really looked to have a small bite out of one side! Jade, I get updates from spaceweather.com and also read Jonathan Cainer’s horoscopes which mention things like this – cainer.com

The storm knocked down a fence and blew down a lot of firewood for us so the world is in balance here Laloofa :)

I think it started around half past two UK time but that may not be completely accurate. Glad you like the blog Roberta :D

off to look at the stardate site :)

thx so much guys…. I love all things starry and planet-y and we are soooo lucky to have an observatory near us and it’s only a tenner a year so really want to join! It has a huge telescope too :o ) it’s just 2 year old has never been looked after by anyone else before! So am nervous but as long as it’s not too late I am sure we can wrap them up and bring them along… woop woop I’ve just decided to join after xmas, mind made up. I am sure 6 year old would love it too and as it is open sat eve it won’t hurt having a little late night now n then will it?!
Do you guys have a telescope? We did but with 2 year old trashing everything we gave to dear old father in law!
anyhow, thanks for those sites everyone :o )

Lovely pictures of the moon. We did look out, but it was far too light at half two here and I couldn’t see anything, although the moon around 4.30pm was magnificent, big, orangey and beautiful! The wind depositing you some firewood sounds a jolly good service to me, wish it had delivered us a few nice oak branches! Enjoy your weekend xx

  7. Lucy says:

no oak branches here, but lots of birch and pine :)
