Ah, more great photos! Love your beautiful Solstice sunrise taken from Toby’s perspective. :-) And where’s Buddha? Buddha appears to be napping, all wrapped up in a cozy white blanket. Makes me feel drowsy just looking at him. Your scary woodshed, on the other hand… all avalanche warnings and ice daggers! Yikes.

Warm Yule blessings to you, Lucy!

That first shot is absolutely gorgeous – love it. Love the Buddha too – we’re forecast snow tomorrow so mine may look like that by tomorrow night!

    Hi Lucy and Family!
I just wanted to tell you that I have been reading your blog off and on for years now and I also wanted to let you know how much it has meant to me. I live in the USA and reading your blog is always like a vacation to me – seeing all the wonderful places you go and reading a little bit about them. You’ve put me onto many other blogs and websites and sadly, some of the blogs have now fallen by the wayside, but still I always find something new. I’ve watched how your blog has come along over the years. It would really take a long time to tell you all the things I enjoy about the blog so I won’t gush over you like that, but suffice to say that you guys are a HUGE inspiration! Thank you so much!

    Sincerely,
    Leigh in Tennessee

    Hiya Lucy,
Ive just came across your blog – its great! We away to embark on our very own home ed journey and I find it refreshing to see there are other home ed families in the area,as I have found it difficult to know where to start in looking for like minded people! lol
Any hints & tips of good forums etc would be much apprieciated, My eldest will be 5 this year so altho we have been doin home ed with him for around a year already Im bracing myself for the looks of dispair form all around us when we say again that ‘no he isnt going to school’ – i think the looks get even more disparing when the people realise im at home with 3 bubbas 4 and under and folk wonder where i will ‘find the time’ for home ed.
Anyways I cant wait and look forward to working my way through your archives! lol
& also look forward to hearing if you can point me in the direction of some helpful places to meet other ‘mad’ folk like us!
    bye for now :D x

    Hi Kimberly,
Two places for you: the noshed group, a home ed group covering the whole of Northern Scotland. Weve met some lovely people through them and had great trips etc. Then there’s the home education forums, well populated, special section for Scotland too :)

As for the askance looks and comments, you get better at letting them slide off you after a while, or maybe just pickier about the people you mix with/let bother you :)

hope the archives are useful, nice to hear from you :D
