amid the snow

the snow returns

Whoops, no blog posts for a bit! We were blocked in for two weeks, then ran madly around buying food and Christmas. I do prefer Yule, no purchase required :)

In the midst of this we had a sad happening with the loss of Fantine. She was 20 years old and very frail but we all miss her very much. I looked out some older photos of her as I didn’t want the children to just remember her as a little old lady. She was a powerful cat, always very protective of my babies :)

Then there was a frenzied early unwrapping of one of my presents due to the (I thought at the time, unrectifiable  ) breakdown of my old ipod nano. See how quickly I throw aside ethical non-buying preferences where Apple products are concerned?

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your beloved cat, it’s best to remember all the good times.

We’ve finally got lots and lots of snow here in Oban today!

I’m so sorry for the loss of your cat, it’s such a heartbreaking thing.

We’ve got lots of snow here in South Wales, we’re pretty much snowed in and run out of bread – arrrghhh! But luckily we’ve got bread flour and our trusty bread machine, hope there’s enough for a few days.

So sorry about Fantine, how sad but what a great thing to have known her for so long.

We finally have snow – unfortunately it means they’ve cancelled the film we were off to see tonight – and it was George Clooney too! Am having chocolate to get over the disappointment. Love that card btw!

  5. Lucy says:

Everyone snowed in again! It’s quite educational though, realising we didn’t need all that stuff we always thought we did. May have a bread baking session soon also.

Fantine was a beautiful girl. She had a long, happy life with you, but it’s so sad that she’s gone.
I love your iPod touch! I’ve toyed with the idea of asking for one of these for various special occasions (ie Christmas or birthday!), but can’t justify it really, as I’m at home most of the time and my lappie is always on… I do fancy them, though!
Love the card, though glad we haven’t just had sweetcorn for lunch! :o

Ah I share your sorrow. My cat is very ill right now, shes on medication for life but wont take it, we basically have to make her as comfy in her last year/s? Its sad to see her lose her vitality.
