Alpro soya milks and puddings

Alpro soya milks and puddings

Have been sent some Alpro goodies to try :) We do like their soya milk. The only one I didn’t know about was the ‘milk alternative’ suitable from 1 year old. Lots of extra vitamins and iron in it (and surprisingly nice in nocaf!). The chocolate puddings are lush lush lush…

Blackcurrant smoothies, there have been a few more – here’s a before pic :) Layered up are borage flowers, gooseberries, blackcurrants, leaf beet, parsley, linseeds (flax), brazil nuts, bananas and apple juice.

I’ll be round in half an hour, get the kettle on, some extra iron soy milk with soya suitable teabags and c acouple of muffins ready… and if you could get me a smoothie to take away in a cool Starbucks style plastic cup.

…. I am in such a baking mood now. I have a courgette I may make your chocolate cake and do what I did last time, tell people about the courgette *after* they’ve eaten.

Make room for me too!! I’ll take some fresh scones to have with the strawberry jam and put a blackcurrant cake aside for me! yum

I love Alpro deserts, I’m not a big desert eater but we get those in every now and again YUM!

  4. Lucy says:

ok, kettle on ;) scones… they sound so good! could try making a thick macadamia cream to go with them and the jam (well, if I had macadamia nuts of course!)

and you have a courgette! on closer inspection it seems ALL my courgette flowers are male – there are more sprouting though so hopefully there will be some ladies among them…

hi Fiona :) they are lovely those puds…

  6. cat says:

mmmmm….macadamia cream. Cashew cream would also be good although I have made soya clotted cream before (but a bit time consuming).

I’m very much in need of a big vegan tea party now with lots of dainty sandwiches and homebaked goods! Dresses and big floppy hats optional.

  7. Mel says:

Oh my goodness, soya clotted cream?! That sounds amazing!

  8. cat says:

It’s delicious! I used to make it for friends when I was a teenager and serve it with scones and I never told them it was vegan…well, at least not until after they said how delicious it was. I must dig out the recipe. It takes a little while to make and require patience to keep it smooth…not something I am naturally blessed with!

  9. Lucy says:

all I can say is, ooh :) looking for macas or cashews today though…

  10. cat says:

Cashew cream generally a cheaper option than macadamia. I’d make it more often but my blender really doesn’t cope with nuts at all and it always stays slightly chunky…not too bad if mixing it in with a savoury dish but doesn’t quite work with cakes and scones. :( I’d imagine macadamia/cashew cream would look and taste wonderful in a vanilla sponge crammed with strawberries. mmmmm.

  11. Lucy says:

I got some cheap macas in asda today so will have to make scones soon… that cake does sound good :)

  12. cat says:

Desperately want scones and cake now and if wasn’t so lazy and idle I’d whip myself up some… if you have any leftover feel free to ship them my way! ;)

oh, have you tried drying fruits in your dehydrator? Just occurred to me that dried chopped up strawberries mixed into a scone mix would be delicious. That or all your delicious fruits made into fruit leathers. Keep meaning to try this out.

no have never dried any of them – can see they would be nice but generally just love the fruit fresh. however jam making is going on this year to get more winter usage of the fruit so making drying should too? will see how supplies go :D

Hi there, could you tell me were I could get the Alpro soya 1+ please, I’ve not seen it anywhere.
    Thank you very much :)

I haven’t actually seen it in shops either, I’m assuming it would be by the baby food and follow on milk, will look next time I’m shopping.
