frogs and barre

spawning frogs

It’s all very magical down there in the pond – just been out listening to them tonight by the light of the moon :) Below should be a short video of them – turn up your volume to hear their frenzied ribbuting! Apologies for the poor picture quality – they are more shy than they appear and I had to do it on zoom from a distance.

beautiful ballet barre

Thanks to wonderful Davie we now have our own fabulous barre – 4 and a half metres of split-slidingly strong pine :)

even gets warm in the sun for us...

Oh you’re so lucky to have all that wildlife at your fingertips. I love frogs they just amuse me :)

And got yourself a dance studio :) Im assuming you’ve been ballet dancing for a while then? I’d love to convert my loft into a dance studio but apparantly you need money to do something as big as that ..who knew :P For now its me and my small room mirror.

I bet ballet must keep you really fit and healthy..plus very flexible.

yes dancing a scarily long time! first time it’s been on my own terms though with nothing nasty attached to it… I’ll be 40 this year and there’s talk of a wooden floor to mark that :D but yes, it all costs more money than you’d think… it is an ultimate exercise program – loving feeling strong again.

  5. Dear Lucy,
It is wonderful to see the frogs spawning and hear their sounds.
    Your barre looks lovely.

  6. Lucy says:

It does feel like fairytale living – sipping tea in the sun surrounded by that noise!

I was listening and watching your frog video and my husband suddenely stopped and started looking round the room with a puzzled look on his face. Then he looked over at me and said “Is that you?” hahaha

  8. Riaz says:

Still no frog spawn in my pond yet. Plenty of flowers in the garden though.

  9. Lucy says:

    LOL Pamela!

it is lovely to see the spring flowers :)

    Hello,

I really love your Website and Newsletter, and all your pictures and information. I don’t know why I don’t get it on a regular basis. I think I have only gotten two.

Your pictures are beautiful, and so is your food! I loved seeing your frogs, too.

I had ancestors in Scotland who were very lovely people, and I have good information on them and where they lived. I have been to England, but not to Scotland.

Could you please tell me the best place to look for property there? I am not familiar to what the different areas are like. This week I looked at real estate in Glasglow, and was shocked to see that a Bungalow was half a million dollars! Is that typical of real estate in Scotland? I was shocked at that price!

My main concern in buying property in an area is first safe and serene, emphasis on safe, and the nicest weather possible. I would welcome any information on this topic. It may never work out where I could do this, but it is a wonderful day dream, and the more information I can receive the more it could become possible!

Thank you for your lovely pictures, information and interesting website!

    Best wishes,

    Suzanne

Hi Suzanne – we only send out occasional newsletters but glad you like them :) Not sure what to suggest with property – that is typical of Glasgow prices but you’re much cheaper in most country areas. As to different places – there are so many all very diverse – maybe a browse round http://www.scotland.org/ might help?

  14. Suzanne says:

Thank you, Lucy! That is very helpful. I know little about the areas, only Edinburgh and Glasgow, and little about them. I will follow the link you sent me.

I am from the States, but in my view there is nothing more beautiful than Scotland. :)
