big garden post

Trying to record what were growing this year, nice to see the difference later in the year, and to remember what worked and build on it in years to come.

First though, a mention to a new local design & marketing business working specifically with charities and social enterprises – Bobbinsnail :D

apple blossom

So listing veg and fruit: potatoes Charlotte (of course!) and Annabel (linked to us reading The Ivy Tree just prior to seed purchase); garlic; green brocolli and purple sprouting; scarlet and curly kale; carrots; beetroot; lots more leaf beet aka perpetual spinach as it does so well up here; rocket; lettuce, must plant more of; lots of sage and parsley (latter self seeds everywhere here so no actual work involved there); other herbs are lemon balm, lovage, thyme, borage, dill, oregano, lady’s mantle; rhubarb and chives also come up themselves every year in great abundance; tomatoes; aubergine and cucumbers… on to fruit: strawberry runners have gone wild in Charlotte’s garden; we happily inherited 2 apple trees here both prolific with blossom this year; lots of rasps both standard and golden; gooseberries; blackcurrants; redcurrants; plums on a very old tree but still producing quite a lot… no doubt forgotton some bits but that must be almost all of it

have to protect stuff from these guys with fencing quite a bit!!

some of the bunnies favourite food right now... love to see them eating it :)

Leaving room for gardening miracles with last years little cabbage, parsley and pots all together:

pots and garlic

potatoes, garlic, parsley - should be nasturtiums too soon at the edges

chives always growing way faster than we can eat

rocket done well in the tunnel... must plant another sowing

rhubarb

one of Charlotte's strawberries

some runners in an unlikely place but seem to be flourishing on the wood

forgot rosemary – we have a tree of it in the front garden, a huge pot brought from last house and this cutting from said tree:

baby rosemary

front porch tomatoes up, went like a jungle last year
