lovely things

snowdrops

Not been feeling very blogworthy but I have been putting together these things, old and new that weve enjoyed, used, made or found or refound in the last weeks.

Being properly ill for the first time in years had me digging out new holistic herbalThe New Holistic Herbal – had this book since the children were small, it is a wonderful herbal. Love the way it’s laid out with sections on the major systems of the body and herbal recommendations for things that can go wrong, then the herbal itself. Not as wonderful as Catriona with her vast knowledge and personalised advice but still pretty darn good

Lemon ginger drink: chop some ginger finely (I used about an inch sized cube bit for a litre jug) and pour boiling water over, let brew for a few minutes then squeeze in a couple of lemons and add a squirt of agave, mix, drink, lovely Cafetiere very handy for this and loose herb teas, no clogged spouts

cafetiere gets the bits out - great for herb teas too

Easy-to-make food. Baked bean, sausage and mushroom pies – as simple as they sound and look, were very nice.

Been watching slightly odd stuff, sappy films like The Lakehouse and vintage kids stuff such as Duckula, love it, so much less dumbed down than much current kids TV is :D Reading Sue Townsends too. Watching re-runs of Friends has been fun and weve been really appreciating our real life friends and family who’ve been fantastic and have had to put up with a lot of illness related moaning from me of late.

a big chocolate bunny…

200g of fattening fun!

and tulip shoots:

Spring is on the way...

Normality may be resumed shortly, though we were never really that anyway…
