Halloween 2008

a gentle start to the day:

carving

getting costumed up:

Madam Goji Berry's boot

vengeance demon

a deathly Darth

a mad witch

then off to the party!!

drive of horror

scarecrow

pumpkins and reflecty witch

Moonrabbit Lucy’s fabulous animatronic butler – speaks, breathes, turns head and eyes…

and is terribly polite :)

wall of doom - lovely squelchy blood and eyeballs behind ;)

food!

more food

 speaking and grabbing candy bowl

and a little education did happen too Daytime pics of graves as I, correctly, doubted my camera’s night-time abilities…

latin and popular culture

The witches walk took place in the dark with torches and some history about the witch trials but here’s some of the well lit graves:

Isobel Grierson

Sarah Good

Old Mother Demdike

connected story – Straw urged to pardon witches

Preparing for the scariest moment of the party here – she was actually covered over with leaves in the torchlight to do this later – it was amazing

hand reaching up from the grave

getting darker

Great fun was had during the treasure hunt…

here in the graveyard

newly risen

the death mask

told you so!

severed hand

ghost

Kids all ran about after in the dark, leaping out of graves at each other etc. all very wholesome

glow sticks

we made a lot of mess with party poppers

Also had a quiz, fortune telling and a creepy story round… have failed to photograph the evil stockings, wonderful treasure and hats of tat and misfortune… a rather high standard has been set now against which all other parties will be measured
