garden bits

more garden pics…  Planning to just be out there today with my book

Weve all been working very hard recently and some r&r is in order I think. The kids put in a whole days hard labour to do this for winter:

logs in store

They were very careful not to disturb this gentleman too much – he lives in the wood stores

toad

little fountain

Set up this new, small solar fountain to add oxygen to a fountainless bit of pond… only works when the sun is full on it but is quite fascinating to watch that.

Now, there was a request for a tour of the garden? picfest, mouseover:

one of the paths I unearthed

fake lotus flower - love how it fills up with rain

plan for today

Had some very small tatties from the garden last night – amazing flavour, just can’t buy that. Also chopping this into lots of salads and soups just now:

scarlet kale

another bit of the pond

archway - in need of some trimming

gooseberries - we all only like these when they get pink and soft

great swing this - you go a long way with very little effort

patch of preserved meadow

low down in the meadow

rockery

lovely larch

Just made what I hoped would be a ‘ribena-esque’ drink with these, water and agave. It was not good, far too watery I will perfect it yet

blackcurrants

the smell is heavenly

bee

so there we are… seems to have morphed into a garden blog, probably only a seasonal situation However I will now warble about some other things….

Have been busy working on Frugal Living in the UK - hits have gone through the roof there with the current economic crisis and summer interest in days out.

Also giving a plug for the Dyslexia Shop which I ordered some bits and pieces from last week – a fabulous selection of things there for optimal learning and fast, efficient service The yellow pads are a particular favourite of ours – good for everyone not just dyslexics, the colour yellow We get them in bulk from Viking Direct. Will get around to promised review of latin books soon – we are liking them That’ll make a change from the garden

still loving that latin ;)
