let there be light

lots of lights :D Davie had fun with some that the previous owners left us:

Davie sets up the big lights by the bridge

there they are and small ones on cypress tree in the background, right

nice with the reflections

Looks very nice out there in the dark :)

Then in a strange and wonderful ‘great minds and all that’ moment, we received our gifts from the gorgeous Cat. Davie and me have not worn ours yet so they’ll appear in time ;) But weve all been loving the moon. I almost bought this for Daniel for Christmas but went with another idea in the end… it’s so good to have it though. Weve listened to the CD that came with it while watching it’s phases. Looks very good up there on the black wall. Also read a bit of this in tune with the moon book – wow that’s a fascinating subject, I thought it was all about planting but no – allsorts of things are affected by the moon, even haircuts!

moon up on dining room wall

not as difficult to photograph as the real thing but I'm still not very good...

Had some more lovely cards in the post this morning – every card so far has been really nice. Nicci and Brandon’s one today had a wonderful quote from Nelson Mandela on it: “For to be free is not to merely cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others“. Really like that.

Ended the day with fab muffins (wholemeal spelt vanilla sponge with melted chocolate and soya cream – variation of vanilla sponge recipe here).

cooling by window - love this shelf

looking posh with cream
