whales and dolphins… actually otter and seal

Really good home ed group trip to the WDCS centre in Spey Bay today – nice big turnout. Think we got more sun in this one day than we had in the whole summer! Kids did a lot of running around playing together – love how that happens so naturally in this group.

 ** this social side of home ed has always delighted me – interesting findings from this Canadian research, just released. Quote: “The average Canadian home schooled student is regularly involved in eight social activities outside the home. Canadian home schooled children watch less television than other children, and they show significantly fewer problems than public school children when observed in free play,” she said.** 

Back to the day :) The ladies from the centre organised various activities for us, all good. Shorewatch, matching dorsal fins, tour of the huge ice house (got to hold Orca teeth in there), river walk where we saw an otter and a seal, beach walk with driftwood sculptures, an informative film… pics:
