more autumnal

Lovely bright days and very cold nights. Were developing a little routine with our wood burning stove here on Walton Mountain… every evening before making dinner, we light it and then have a cosy evening round it, playing board games and watching films :D It heats the radiators amazingly well too, not as fast or hot as the gas but it’s fine for just now. We even have hot cocoa (after it’s been lit for a couple of hours) from our big fire kettle – I tell you, it’s all very wholesome ;)

Autumn colours are appearing by the loch – this is how it looked when we first saw it last year, nice to come full circle to a more peaceful time (compared to the moving/househunting selling stuff - blog very handy for looking back):

Kids and Davie drained the pool – it’s all cleaned and folded away now until next year:

pumping out the last

and they found this little fellow – think he must have crept in overnight once it was shallow. Can’t see how he could have got in when it was full (would he use the pool ladder?):

he's been named Bobbie and liberated into the pond

Put on the new sofa covers – feels nice and fresh and new…

and will hopefully hide the chocolate stains better than the red ones did :)
