article - homeschooling comes of age.

Breakfast juice this morning: carrot, apple, ginger and lemon – like drinking confectionery, it was so sweet :D

all layered up as it came out of the juicer

Daniel’s pumpkins have gone wild in the country – here they are breaking free from the cold frame:

pumpkin breakout

they are actually very small, probably should have hampered their spread and number but it's been great to watch!

Autumnal:

berries and ivy

squint view from by pond

apple - quite a few on the tree by the drive

plum - grand total of 2 on tree!

love this part of the garden

Back to food:

fat, juicy... and delicious... all been scoffing so many of these from Charlotte's garden

The wonderful lettuces just keep coming – cut and come again is fantastic as a thick pile in a sarnie and the romaines are being juiced frequently. Amazing how dark green their juice is.

note nettles too - I worked hard in their cultivation

baby runner beans - getting there

sage, chives, beans and kale... some self seeded golden feverfew too...

The kitchen will be finished either today or tomorrow – it is just wonderful, I don’t know myself. Never had a dishwasher before… dishes have never looked so clean and shiny! Since the last book post I have read The Woman and the Ape by Peter Hoeg – can certainly see why it’s been called controversial but there’s some good stuff in there about how we treat animals and was a good read.
