Schools here go back today – can feel that atmosphere in the air. At least it’s not glorious and sunny – that always made it so much harder… It’s incredibly autumnal now – been reminding myself that it’s only August and we should get some more sunshine yet. Love autumn though – there’s a kind of peace and calmness to it.
Had a bit of fun creating a spreadshirt shop with home ed, vegan and aspie items (note three categories at top of shop page) - see it here
Been gearing up to some academia – kids have chosen a short OU course each from the open learn free section. Daniel’s doing both Latin and a political one and Charlotte selected one on analysing prose which is actually intermediate. Thought I’d have to do it with her but she’s managing admirably – amazing comprehension for a 12 year old :) She’s also very busy writing a very long story… and practising her piano playing.
Had an impromptu maths lesson from Davie last night because of a near disaster at his work involving order of operations in equations… might delve a bit deeper in there today.
Daniel and I were inspired to look for an old path in the woods we were told about the other day. Not sure if we found it or not – we wandered right into the wild parts. This wood is not ‘managed’ like most others around here so nature has taken over. Feels rather primal and earthy in there. We sunk knee deep into the primordial soup and got rather lost, stumbling through face-high bracken for about an hour… all good

deep in the woods
Been having some sumptious smoothies (both serve 4):
Choc-orange-green – 1 avocado, 3 bananas, some raw chocolate beans, teaspoon spirulina, fresh orange juice and water to cover. This is so creamy and rich, you don’t taste the green aspects like you’d think
red berry – couple of handfuls of redcurrants (still going strong), 3 peaches, handful gojis, 1 mango, water or juice to cover… very brightly coloured this one and peachy tasting.
Some resources weve been sent recently:

Scottish Archaeology month - quite a few events and exhibitions.
