beach fun

Nice day today – weird,  changeable weather though: sunny and cold then incredibly windy – blew over the big swing seat and now it’s really hot. That’s been the way all through this summer… were getting off rather lightly compared to others of course – hope you are all dry and safe.

Met friends for lunch and beach adventures. Daniel had not quite finished the book so took it with him to read in the cafe. One of the staff came over and asked where he’d got to – she’d just finished :)

daring rescue of a jellyfish with a local schools citizenship booklet

sadly it turned out to be dead… and booklet not as interesting as I had anticipated. However it did give rise to conversations about home ed – the way we did things soon after school and how it flows now, letting go of the school based ideas which have little to do with individual learning… and then there were all these other jellies:

this one was alive and propelling :)

Then this next photo is strange – we visited a book shop afterwards as Charlotte has had her heart set on a book she’d seen there and now has money (reading like the clappers this one now – our dyslexic little girl :) :) ) Anyway, was shocked when Daniel noticed there were real fish in this column thing that I had thought those fake fish things were in – two huge catfish and many others – angel, butterfly, piranhas. The great big catfish cleaning the side with it’s mouth is reflecting the books:
