colours

Everything is very colourful here just now – I have a toe that looks like it has gangrene but no – it’s just dyed that colour. I nagged everyone else about avoiding skin contact and being good with the latex gloves and then proceeded to ignore my own advice completely and stomp around in the stuff :D

White to start:

scrunched up in a spiral - this was one of Charlotte's

Dan goes for many small circles

Dan asked me “why didn’t you tell us tie-dye was so much fun?” in quite an accusing tone… I’ve never done it before either, child…

the little circled one gets purple

I had fun...

it's not easy being green - an old T of Dan's gets a new life :)

then 24 hours later:

rinsing off excess dye

Washed and out to dry. You know it’s almost a shame I don’t have to walk up to school wearing these – been a while since I had a disdainful look and muttering behind my back.  A friend of mine had a bad end of term experience of that sort yesterday… if only the t-shirts had been ready then – we could have showed them ;)

exquisite

some quite good effects...

editing in for those who wish to be as glamorous as us: I bought a Jacquard set and then searched for cheap t-shirts on google and got a big box of latex gloves from an online chemist, again just searching and choosing the cheapest.

and weve had some suitably colourful food:

a veritable sack of Japanese rice that Cat brought us sushi, inari and stir fry

This little wren fledgling flew into the house yesterday (tend to have windows and doors open this time of year – love fresh air). It flew around landing on all sorts of things – the fairy lights, piano, TV, books, Charlotte’s leg… finally got hold of it gently and put it outside. It sat there for a bit and then it’s parent came and guided it away :)
