busy busy

hen and chicks at farming museumcouple of days. Yesterday my Mum and Dad were down for chemistry and lunch which was very nice. Went for a lovely wood/loch walk with them too.

Today was a home ed group meet at a park and farming museums which was also great – lovely sunny day for it. I forgot lots of schools would be off with the voting so initially thought we had an utterly amazing turn out for the outing :) There was one little conversation which I loved. A member of staff in the museum asked the children if they were having a nice day off school. One of the younger members of our party informed her that all the children were actually home educated. The museum lady said “oh, so your mummies are your teachers – are they any good?”, the kids answered “fantastic”. :D Then one of our number began to detail the failings of the local school she had been at – I thought this was wonderful ;)

We also went to a farming supplies shop as we had been told they had better priced nuts and seeds for the birds – wow they really did, and flea treatment for the cats. Half the price for the same stuff the vet gives you. I had a silly urge to buy a giant trough, they looked so cool, (how great to sit in on a hot day!) but I resisted.

Then we toddled off to the polls - kids very interested in the whole process. Indeed, it was interesting with the very different system in place this time. Proportional representation for the council ones and the two columns for the Scottish parliament… I think Alex could do very well this time. Have written him many letters over the years (you’ll never guess what about ;) ) and he’s always responded or acted in a most supportive manner so hopefully a big change of that kind will be positive.

Still being very good with our daily French – have done it early in the morning on these busy with outings/visitor days :) Not very photographic times but there are a couple of nice ones from today:
