…as opposed to ‘busy work’ for the sake of it which they might have been doing in other circumstances. Started with a cave meditation and some yoga, then we got on with our 6 week French course – all enjoyed it, managed to do most of today’s bit outside in the sun :)
Also played Trilemma out there and kids did a character description from Wuthering Heights. You’d think they’d choose Cathy and Heathcliff wouldn’t you? But no, Hareton and Joseph were dissected. Loved seeing them work through the different ways to word their ideas and thoughts – searching for the most effective and clearest way to convey their meaning. We used the little description template from Writing Fun - also read through the examples which are rather sweet :) The ‘response’ ones are great too – fantastic review of tests!! Actually wrote the description in their English jotters as there wasn’t much room on the print-out but it was good for organisation ideas.
