triangles

We read up a bit more on Pythagoras theorem in this book and then moved onto triangles in general and played around with both pythagorus and triangles in this online maths dictionary for kids. Daniel went off on his own Pythagorean tangent investigating the habits of the Pythagoreans. He has also been fascinated to learn about the newly discovered planet, in fact we all were, and had a chuckle at the bookies reaction

Both children have been writing emails and letters today – catching up on their correspondence :) I should probably do that too…

I included the children in the needlessly complex process of surrendering endowment policies – they were most interested in thinking up ways to spend the money when we eventually get it! Led onto some interesting discussion about mortgages, mis-sold endowments etc. Also took them with me, using speakerphone, through the maze of phone menus on a PC helpline with Dan’s malfunctioning laptop – they found it all very amusing and ridiculous, as indeed it is. I knew it was the hard drive (again), but no, we had to spend an hour trying out pointless things… hopefully they will actually come here and pick it up – their system seemed determined to revert to our old address.

Charlotte has been going deeper into manga again with improving results:
