reading, painting

Been another weekend of gardening and Wuthering Heights. Loving both. A friend lent me a book about Emily which is fascinating – I’m reading it and telling the children various things from it. Were all taking it in turns to read WH out loud – am most impressed with the development of the childrens expressive reading and vocabulary.

Done some more oil painting with a sheet this time :) Put on some Chopin in the background – all quite enthused after watching Impromptu

not too much mess this time

Charlotte's wolf

Had some lovely ‘out of the garden’ food over the weekend – made a scrummy crumble with this:

rhubarb from the garden - love the colours

and a nice banana date teabread thing which I’ve written up here and some very creamy thanks to vitamix – (see our page on this wonder of wonders here!!) nettle soup:

slightly slopped nettle soup :)

Got rather excited about the new Harry Potter trailer – love all that government lying to us and controlling education stuff she gets into it… even more, the speaking your truth regardless of what others think and want to be true… and regardless of how you get treated. That bit in the classroom with Umbridge reminds me of some of Daniel’s school experience.

…and here’s some of my ‘look at this gorgeous flower that’s coming up’ syndrome:

Scottish bluebells - actually called wild hyacinths up here

tadpoles too are included in the syndrome despite not being flowers

and very tall holly trees growing in the rhodies
