art pad – quite a fun little site where you can create your drawing, then frame it and hang in a gallery :)

Kids did some pictures with sun sensitive paper. Also discussed standard photography about each layer of chemicals on the film reacting to photons of different colours.

A weather project is in full swing now with this little kit and these. Had good fun setting them up today and recording the results.

Weve wired it to the veranda so we can be lazy and record results from inside like so:

thermo and hygro meters

thermometer all wrong due to hot sun on it at this time. It does seem to be quite accurate at other times though (the one we had at the last house thought we lived in Spain). The little one on the station is right all the time as turned away from the sun. Recording results:

 

Read up on different sorts of clouds in this book and did this online quiz. And, ironically, and very unusually this was the sky here today:

where are the clouds?

Not complaining though, it’s been amazing, my face feels slightly burnt :) Must invest in some sunscreen…
