science and engineering day

Went to the Science and Engineering day at the Maritime Museum today. Was really good – kids liked testing the water for nitrates and ammonia with Setpoint - man from there was very helpful in offering us a science experiment box for the HE group. Also looked at daphnia and krill through a microscope, learned about the composition/density of water and ice with the sciencesnaps people (plan on entering their competition on the website), tested inks, got a pondwatch bugdial to make (should be useful) and various other things. Then we headed off for lunch and a voucher spending spree in various shops – have not been in to the city since we moved.
