of spawn in the pond this morning – and they’re still busy laying. Each time I look out there is more
Had a really good day yesterday at the lighthouse with the HE group. Met some lovely new people – girls were all exchanging their emails. Have been to this museum many times over the years and each time we get a bit more out of it. The people who take you up the old lighthouse are very informative. Didn’t get to go outside up there as it was so windy which was a shame as the view is amazing.
Really springlike here just now – some flowers by the pond:

Kids just got their Young Archaeologist mag and the new site Past Explorers was mentioned – teachers section quite good with a virtual Anglo-Saxon village.
Been another day of wildlife watching. This morning there were two red legged partridges in the garden looking at the bird feeder bit. Frogs were in amourous mood again. We saw a heron and buzzard fighting in mid air which was exciting. We also now have a greater spotted woodpecker visiting once a day (yes the rspb pocket guide is very useful).
All been doing lots of reading – got Tony Attwood’s new title, though Daniel has rea
d more of it than me. That led to some interesting discussion about whether you sit back and feel disabled – poor me, I have such and such - or get on with your life… was quite impressed with his train of thought. I do realise that some people have conditions of a severity that this isn’t a choice to be made – just talking about our own situation in our family. And another, very cute, aspie book – All Cats have Asperger’s Syndrome. Don’t usually like things with ‘cute’ kittens etc. but this is a very effective and simple way of explaining aspergers – would be good for use in schools, but will they bother themselves? Well, you never know :) Book does give a positive slant overall I felt – one or two sad bits, but they are true…
