Went to the local HE group Christmas party today. As usual it was a really good event. These kids are always amazing in how they just all get on – between 30 and 40 children aged 0 (I had a lovely cuddle with a little baby – so sweet) and 16 all ran about having fun :D Daniel was a bit concerned that he might have to dance at the disco element of the party, and make a fool of himself. Tried to reassure him that there is no ‘have to’ at home ed things and there isn’t any mocking or teasing, it’s all much more accepting. However he was up dancing a few times of his own accord and got on fine :) Can remember feeling a bit like that myself as a teenager. I spent much time lurking by the buffet today… so much lovely food…
Much Animal Crossing was done in the car by three children there and back and cheesy festive music listened to. Am putting the (blurry and indistinct) photos behind the password as there are quite a few children apart from mine in there – I do have to record the photographic evidence of Daniel dancing in public for myself though (**edit in -no longer up) ;)

amazing Russian books these: spirituality; growing; living naturally; raising children with love and respect; quite magical. Release any preconceived ideas of how life should be (or books) and create your space of love!
A very well researched novel which, alongside Picoult's usual 'heading to a trial' plot, explores many facets of and perspectives on Asperger's Syndrome. The potential and common effects of AS on siblings is especially well documented here. As gripping and informative a book as
