music, history and the future

We took a trip to an old graveyard where the great great grandparents of the composer Grieg are buried. Very pretty and evocative place. A small cat followed us around. My camera battery ran out which prevented me from taking a picture of the actual grave.

Came home and read up a bit more about Grieg and downloaded a couple of his pieces on iTunes (both from Peer Gynt – In the Hall of the Mountain King and Morning). Kids watched some of The Future is Wild, a series made by the same people who did Walking with Dinosaurs, this time imagining a world where humans are extinct. Lead to quite a lot of interesting discussion.
