balls

A couple of images from yesterday’s walk: under a beech tree

and again...

Today kids played Trilemma and then we dug out this Hyperlauncher kit that weve had for a while. We read up on Polymers in this wonderful Science Dictionary and then got to making the balls :) Great fun. Once we’d made enough and let them dry out a bit we hyperlaunched them demonstrating Newton’s law of Force = Mass x Acceleration very well. Now I tried to capture that with the camera but it didn’t do the bounciness justice. The smallest balls did shoot off the end in a quite spectacular fashion.

all made and ready to go...

article from the Observer on bullying. It is very difficult to see a real answer to this problem now things have progressed so far. Bullies are seen as the ‘normal’ children now by many teachers. Bullying policies seem to exist to prevent any action being taken – like some sort of sick joke. Anyway, article makes interesting reading.
