beach, boat and trailer

As part of our ‘clearing away in order to move’ project it was decided we need a car trailer. A second hand one was located and off we set to get it – this all got combined with a bit of a day out. Took a picnic to the beach in Whitehills near where my Granny used to stay. I found my favourite old rockpool and it still contained little fish! We then went on to the playpark and low and behold the old fishing boat was still there too :)

Whitehills beach

old favourite - deceptively deep - I once fell in :)

same pool, further along

ship ahoy!

'Bairn's Pride' - it did not used to be called that...

I’m sure there used to be a ladder to get onto the front of the ship, however I could see the climbing potential and told Charlotte to hold the camera while I got up there… ah me

just about to 'fly' Titantic style

Charlotte makes her way up

...and flies...

So think the rest of the weekend will be clearing out cupboards, garage and loft and taking trips to the recycling centre with various things. Have been really enjoying the Tesco DVD rental (there’s a free trial tab below) service lately – no late charges so great for us – have watched lots of films in the evenings. Kingdom of Heaven was much better than I expected – was worried it might be biased in favour of the crusaders – it wasn’t. Lots of good historical and medical (leprosy) discussion and research stemmed from that.
