You know, I don’t know when a summer has felt so much fun – this warmth just goes on and on
Weve camped out for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it – like being on holiday but with all the comforts of home a few steps away. Had friends over for the day yesterday which was really nice. We had a bit of a laugh with the book people order when it arrived. I didn’t realise that X-treme latin would be so rude in places, but Daniel just loves it. 6 years at state school – there’s not much he hadn’t heard already in English but if you’re offended by swear words, maybe you shouldn’t read on ;) I found the variations of ‘go f*** yourself’ (futue te ipsum) in different tenses quite educational I must say, even just in English. A few examples (well I find it funny): potential subjective – I should like you to **** yourself; present conditional, contrary to fact – if you were ****ing yourself, I would be rejoicing, and the best of all is the ablative absolute – you have been ****ed, I rejoice (te fututo, gaudeo). It’s education Jim, but not as we know it… speaking of which there is a chapter for trekkies where you can say stuff about sheilds being down etc. in latin – much less rude. Daniel is now reading aloud the various latin excuses for not doing homework… hmmm, those might not be much use to him. Have we detected a flaw in this home ed thing? I do apologise for this paragraph – I must be in a silly mood
Let’s see what other inoffensive stuff have we been doing? Charlotte’s been writing lots of stories, I’m onto yet another Jodi Picoult, watching and discussing a little bit of Big Brother, tidying the garden a bit, had a gorgeous red dragon pie… (this is the closest recipe I could find online – maybe should write my own out, it’s a bit simpler, no frying), all loving the new computer and that’s about all I can think of. A couple of camping pics:
