Fyvie castle

Had a lovely, therapeutic day out today with my mum and sister. Drove over to Fyvie and had a walk by the river and nice lunch in a cafe there. Then we went on to the castle. It’s been a gorgeous day weatherwise – so hot and sunny, everything smelling of summer. Saw lots of baby birds of various sorts round the lake – they got a bit frenzied while we were feeding them!

There was a family of coots running around on the lilypads – camera did not catch them of course. The babies were like tiny balls of fluff!

There was an amazing array of herbs, vegetables and fruits, even mushrooms being grown in the walled garden.

Daniel had a great time quizzing the guides in the castle – here he is reading some stuff given to him in the shop:
