…is permeating the whole house and though my hands are now clean they still smell of it too. A friend sent us a leaflet from the Roman baths we visited last year in Bath – brought back lovely memories of a very hot summer day (looking out at cold and rain here just now). This, our art supply shopping yesterday and the Art from the Past Roman book led us to make some little Roman lamps – working with clay is quite satisfying and relaxing despite the pungency of this brand weve bought. I couldn’t get the handle to look good and stuck stars on mine so lost any semblance of ‘Romaness’ really but the children adhered to the instructions better :) Not sure how long the stuff will take to dry out – then we’ll have the odour of paint to enjoy.
