gorgeous cake

Had just the most amazing meal today. Went up to Dufftown to a mini vegan gathering at an old friend’s house. Great food and company – we all had a really good time. Food wise, well will just list - peppers in oil and herbs, cannelloni bean dip, cream cheese and herb dip, a lovely aubergine thing, stuffed olives, caper berries, home made breads, pasta bake, risotto, roast herby potatoes, salads, chocolate cake with cherries, coffee cake with walnuts, cherry and lemon mini cake things, home made ice cream with a biscuity layer… know I have not remembered everything but the cakes are below (priorities straight as always).

Daniel had a fabulous time discussing languages and other things with the author of this book (vegan society Chair) and also an Indian gentleman who could speak 7 different Indian languages. Everyone was very interested in home education – was asked a lot of questions about it but it was fine as I knew the interest was genuine and not judgemental in any way. Did mention to a few people about Daniel having Aspergers after a while and they were very surprised, said he conducted himself very well socially. Bet they wouldn’t have thought that while he was at school – what a transformation. Kids had some fun watching all the very tame though wild rabbits that ran around our friend’s garden eating her plants! Fantastic views of the Cabrach from the garden – mmm another contender for my moving dreams :D actually would be too far from Davie’s work… unless he found another job, hmm…
