Had a nice HE trip to Archaeolink today. Just 3 families came but it was good – some new faces too. The day got extremely hot at times – 28 degrees in the car for a while (this is exceptionally hot for up here in June or ever really…) We went round on the guided tour which weve never done before – was really good, very informative and Daniel got to quiz an expert, which he always loves. Below, the henge, bronze age weapon making, Roman and Celt fighting and Charlotte trying on some Roman armour (very heavy):

Had a nice lunch and climbed Berry Hill with it’s real archaeology and watched the film. Afterwards we went on to visit the real Maiden Stone (below) and also Loanhead of Daviot stone circle (camera batteries flat by then). We finished our activities by visiting the library and stocking up on books – kids read fairly quietly on the way home.

and just editing to add this one of the view from halfway up Berry Hill – love the hills (some of them hillforts) in the distance.
