A bizarre squint picture of Davie’s lovely lemon birthday cake (only one candle – the true number might have caused an environmental disaster – recipe here, scroll down). We had our own Day of the Triffids here as weve read loads of it and had big discussions about what might happen next/what the characters should do/how this might be altered a bit in our time, which has been really good. Love the way we can just go with it when were really into a subject. Reading in English classes really frustrated me at secondary school – I would take the book home and read it in a couple of nights and then we spent weeks rehashing it slowly. Hard to see quite how else they could do it but it was so boring at the time.
My mum and dad were down with pressies – they bought the kids some foil art sets which were explored while I read aloud – nice. Did a ‘cool pool’ meditation off the same CD as mentioned yesterday – have ordered another one, they are so good, such a calming, centering start to the day. Workout today was trampolining in the sunshine. Walk was notably free from the usual Baltic style wind we get up here
