mainly books

It’s snowing again – proper big flakes floating down to Earth. But it was spring last week… Had a nice day at home yesterday doing various things. Everyone still really enjoying French. We watched Amelie – had forgotton she was home educated though it buys into the socialisation myth a bit, it’s still good – also shows a couple of other characters being damaged by school. Love that film. Weve all got our noses in books as usual. Daniel is into The Naming of Names though still has Bill Bryson and Adrian Mole on the go too – obviously inherited my trait of reading several things at once. Charlotte is reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, artbooks and playing Spyro in French. My own books have a French flavour too though this was in the main unintentional: Labyrinth, very exciting, and French Women Don’t get Fat – like the whole ethos of that book, similar to my own when I’m being sensible (except I disagree about some of the foods named being ‘healthy’ or even being food but the whole way of thinking is good), and it’s quite a fun read. The magical leek soup idea sounds very good.
