Busy morning so far. We all did an Aerobics Oz Style leg workout – everyone getting better at these. Then Daniel researched Northern Ireland for the postcard exchange book we keep. The family had very kindly sent us two cards – one about Irish writers and one about Lough Neagh, the largest lake/loch in Britain – all very interesting. Then Dan did a maths test thing as he’s come to the end of a section in 2XL – did very well. Charlotte did some magical maths and English revising some things she’s forgotton a bit (or maybe didn’t learn properly in the first place??). I think we’ll head out into the garden this afternoon if the rain lets up.
Have managed to get some topsoil on Freecycle so am filling in the old vegetable beds to go back to grass. Bit sad about that but nothing grows well in there anymore due to all the trees around the patch. Need bigger garden. On a side note re. local educational things: schools here are shut tomorrow due to non-teaching staff striking about their pensions.

fabulous guide to foraging in Britain.
amazing Russian books these: spirituality; growing; living naturally; raising children with love and respect; quite magical. Release any preconceived ideas of how life should be (or books) and create your space of love!
A very well researched novel which, alongside Picoult's usual 'heading to a trial' plot, explores many facets of and perspectives on Asperger's Syndrome. The potential and common effects of AS on siblings is especially well documented here. As gripping and informative a book as
a great storehouse of food growing knowledge from Dirty Nails :)
