puppets and castle

Nice busy day out today. Went into Aberdeen armed with our world book day vouchers – got 4 of the free books and used one as part payment for some other books Daniel was buying. Sat and had drinks and snacks in Ottakars while he browsed. Then we met my sister at The Lemon Tree to see a puppet show of Nobody Rides the Unicorn, a book the children loved when younger. The group were PuppetCraft who I see have many of our favourites in their repetoire. It was very cleverly done – charming too. At the end people were invited up to ask questions about the puppets and take photos, and of course were never ones to miss such a chance ;-) On the way home we popped in by Tolquhon Castle – it’s one of the few open at this time of year. That was fun. We all imagined the size of the roaring fire that would have burned in those huge fireplaces – it was really cold at the time :)
