dinobot

Afternoon: Charlotte worked on some pictures for a story her and a friend are sending in to Blue Peter and Daniel blogged and read up on SpaceWeather.com about tomorrow’s lunar eclipse and blue suns.

The kids raked through the box of science sets and bits this morning and decided to make this DinoBot Quite a good little project sparking lots of discussion about the gears, axle, motor and once again doing electric connections. It was a bit laborious making the cardboard casing with all that double sided tape but worth it in the end as the dino opens and shuts his jaws as he trundles along! He even has snow tyre things (glorified rubber bands) for smooth surfaces. Daniel found the facts part of the instruction booklet the most interesting – source of the word robot etc.
