Dallas Dhu and Findhorn

Hard, crunchy frost overnight leading to a lovely sunny day. Love waking up surrounded by such large trees outside. Kids wrote out some postcards this morning. Then we headed off to Findhorn to see the new wind turbines and we also walked round the ecological houses. Did a little bit of shopping in Forres then drove to Dallas Dhu distillery. We all found it really interesting walking round with our audio guide thingys. Sadly I had to refuse my free dram – special reserve single malt, no longer made – as driving. The Historic Scotland membership has paid for itself this week alone – very useful card. Below: ecological village, first house is a straw bale one.

Below: Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery, Daniel sitting reading at the top of the stairs for no particular rerason and another sundial found on our walk in the shrubbery garden.
