Collected lots of autumn leaves yesterday afternoon – wonderful colours of yellows, red, oranges… Came home out of the wind and rain and did some collaging with them. Will be very seasonal for the walls 
Baked lovely chocolate cake and covered it in vegan butter icing and chocolate beans; a nice treat.
This morning Charlotte has been very busy playing on the Zoombinis Mountain Rescue CD rom – we did play that a lot when first home edding and it has been rediscovered today. Daniel has been studying geology and fossils from various books and is now watching a programme about the Vikings – it shows Jorvik where we went in the summer. It was a very interesting attraction though I found the realistic smell a bit sick-making at times!
Weve enjoyed the Zoombinis – bought this triple pack of CD Roms just after coming out of school. Daniel had done them at school and liked them – they teach mathematical thinking rather than actual maths and are used to help kids who find maths hard. Quite fun with other subjects such as ecology creeping in too.
