pipe cleaners, maths, lunch, cards…

Charlotte really loved those pipe cleaner animals yesterday and worked on into the evening on them creating many of her own designs. I was really impressed with the mute swan (very real with orange and black beak) and unicorn.A new game arrived with the postman today – ‘Trilemma‘. One of the best for maths weve tried. It’s multi level but with the higher levels covers prime numbers, factors, square roots, multiplication, division and such – who would ever have thought I would have found maths fun, but I really do now!

Went for our usual Tuesday lunch at my mums. Played ’3 and pick the pack’, a very simple card game, followed by ‘behind the doors’. The latter is something that seems to be exclusive to my family and involves the last or losing player going out of the room. The others then select 4 members of the opposite sex to be represented by 4 cards (can be real friends/famous/fictional persons known to last player). Rules are you have to say what date you would go on with these people such as going out to dinner or to the cinema, and you must marry one of them (obviously their identity is with-held until you’ve chosen). So today I married Colin Firth and Charlotte married Bart Simpson – think I did better there! Came home and had some friends round to play – they had to leave a little early due to a parent/teacher meeting. Really brought that home to me – no more of those meetings :) :) :)
