geese

Yesterday was ever so hot (well, for up here in September) – did our written work outside at the garden table again and played some more games. Then we set off for Haddo House and the library. Lovely long walk at Haddo – went through the beautiful garden and saw Lady Aberdeen sitting in her greenhouse having tea. There seemed to be thistle seed blowing about everywhere today – it looked like starry warm snow! Got really good collection of books at library today, strange how that varies. Charlotte got some more ethnic cooking titles, audiobooks and her favourite Asterix. Dan is deep in mathematical fact again with the ‘Murderous Maths’ series (they have a good website too with games and a guide for teachers and homeschoolers!! Like it when sites are not completely school-biased :) – and also insects with some big bug book. I got out a book about Jane Austen for kids and Pride and Prejudice – intend all going to see film when it comes out – mini Austen project.

Geese, lake and slide at Haddo.
