vikings and sculptures

Gorgeous sunny day – it’s very autumnal feeling up here now but today was mild and lovely. Firstly went to the library. Daniel got a book on the Welsh language – he is currently loving studying languages especially obscure ones like Cornish and Cumbric. Charlotte was delighted to get a Harry Potter book on CD and several kids recipe books – we are going to be trying out some Egyptian food. Went to Archeolink’s Invasion and watched battles involving vikings, picts, medieval knights and Romans – the modern day army were there today too for comparison (Highlanders). Good fun though I think the kids are beginning to outgrow this place a bit. Went on for a long walk in the Back of Bennachie woods which have sculptures through them on dead trees and stones and such. Then a quick visit to Loanhead of Daviot stone circle to bask some more in the sun
